Prices: 17.23 cents per kWh, the 2025 US residential average from EIA Form EIA-861. The least efficient trim uses about 31 percent more electricity per mile than the most efficient.

About the Ford Mustang Mach-E and its energy use

The Mach-E is a crossover SUV with six trims in the 2026 EPA data. The spread in efficiency is wide: the rear-wheel-drive Extended Range trim uses about 30.7 kWh per 100 miles, and the Rally uses about 40.2, which is about 31 percent more for the same distance.

In the EPA data the Extended Range versions use slightly less electricity per mile than the standard-range versions with the same drive. Charging time on 240 volts runs from 7.7 to 10.2 hours in the EPA data.

If you use public fast chargers

Public fast charging prices are set by each network and change with the place and the time. Check the price on the charger or in the app. This table shows what the Ford Mustang Mach-E would cost per mile at four example prices, compared with charging at home at the US average.

US average price$1.32 a gallon$1.59 a gallon$1.85 a gallon$2.11 a gallon
Hawaii price$3.10 a gallon$3.72 a gallon$4.34 a gallon$4.96 a gallon

If gas where you live costs more than the figure in the table, charging at home costs less per mile than driving a gas car with that fuel economy. If gas costs less, the gas car is cheaper per mile on fuel alone.

How we calculate it

Cost per mile is the EPA kWh per 100 miles, divided by 100, times the price per kWh. EPA measures efficiency at the wall, so charging losses are already inside the figure. Real efficiency changes with speed, temperature, tires and load, so use the EV charging cost calculator with your own numbers.

Ford Mustang Mach-E charging cost questions

How much does it cost to charge a Mustang Mach-E?

It depends on the trim. The RWD Extended uses about 30.7 kWh per 100 miles, and the GT about 37.4. At 1,000 miles a month that is roughly 307 and 374 kWh, which you multiply by your price per kWh.

Does the GT cost much more to charge?

About 22 percent more per mile than the RWD Extended, going by the EPA figures.

How much does it cost to drive Ford Mustang Mach-E 100 miles?

At about 30.7 kWh per 100 miles and the 2025 US average price of 17.23 cents per kWh, 100 miles costs about $5.29 when you charge at home.

How much does a full charge cost for Ford Mustang Mach-E?

Driving the full EPA range of 320 miles takes about 98 kWh from the wall for the RWD Extended trim, which costs about $17 at the 2025 US average price. You rarely charge from empty, so most sessions cost much less.
